How To Start A Modelling Career
The global fashion industry is prolific, which equally matches the desire for aspiring Models to get into it. Discussions around fashion industry issues are complex though important. Fashion consumption impacts our environment, society and economics. According to Fashion United, the industry has a labour force of 3,384.1 million and its value is equivalent to 3 trillion dollars. That means it corresponds to 2% of the world’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP).

Benefits of applying to and being signed by a Model or Talent Agency means that finding work is one of many administrative and operational tasks you don’t have to stress about – your Agent does this for you. From my years of Model Coaching I am aware that there is a significant portion of Models trying to break into the industry, or level up their Model portfolios and careers, without an Agency.

Model career options
When considering your Model career there are 3 primary options for you to have a think about. These decisions need to be made when 1. starting out as a Model. 2. after you have achieved a certain level of success. 3. when your career/prospects are not meeting expectations.
There is no time limit or age at which you’d make these decisions – as long as you make the one that works best for you. Models have the option and opportunity to Model in numerous fields.

The three career options you can choose when working as a Model are:
1. An Agency represented Model.
2. A Freelance Model.
3. A non-exclusive Model.
